COVID-19 UPDATE: Ogun State Government Directs Schools to Shutdown
The directive by the Ogun State Government to temporarily shut down all schools in the state due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) scare has truncated our initial plan to write some of the second term examination papers over the weekend of March 21 and 22, 2020.
It was stated in a report issued by the State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun that by the end of classes on Friday, March 20, 2020, all academic institutions, public or private, must be shut.
In view of this, we wish to inform parents and guardians of our students that they will have to come take home their wards after they must have finished sitting for the day’s papers at 2:00pm. Any students picked up before the completion of their papers stand the risk of failing the papers as there will be no provision for makeup examinations.
When academic activities will resume is still unknown since the closure is an indefinite one. We plead with all parents and guardians to encourage their wards to continue with their studies while at home because the remaining part of the second term exams may still be conducted upon reopening.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this development may cause you. We join in prayers for the health of your children and nation. As always, we will keep you updated on any further development. Stay safe!
