Mayflower Private School Parents’ 1st Term Mid Term/PTA Meeting Newsletter
Dear Parents and Guardians of Mayflower Private School students,we welcome you to our first meeting of the first term of 2019-2020.
1. This midterm break starts today and extends to Sunday November 10. Please make sure that you return your wards no later than 4 pm on Sunday for security reasons.
2. Medical report:Many parents have still not submitted Medical Reports for their wards. If you are among those who have not, make sure that it is filled in and returned with your ward to the Accounts Office or the Boarding Office. Failure to submit will be viewed as incomplete clearance and treated as such.
3. A note from Accounting: We want to use this opportunity to really appreciate our dear parents for prompt payment of school fees of their wards in view of the current economic conditions. At the same time, we solicit for more sacrifice on the part of those still owing to balance up their outstanding fees before bringing back their children from mid-term break, as there will be no temporary clearance after the mid-term break.
4. Parents of senior boys should please note that “pencil trousers” will not be tolerated. Any trousers that are modified will be cut into shorts. Similarly hair must be cut low from home, with no special design or style allowed. Infractions will be dealt with.
5. Inter-House Sports Day will hold on Wednesday February 26, 2020. Sponsorship of your child’s individual house can be made by the purchase of a banner showcasing your family as the sponsors, or though supporting the school through the purchase of branded school supporter track suits and vests. Discounted pre-orders can be made today at this meeting. We wish to appreciate those parents who permitted their wards to take place in the Private School Games which took place recently in Lagos, and event that builds fellowship and sportsmanship among students of many schools.
6. Things needed by your child that should come with them on November 10 include white bed sheets, all uniforms in good repair, school sandals and socks. Supplies can also be purchased at the Canteen. Please as well buy all necessary text books for your pupil in good time. The booksellers come and pick up all unsold copies of textbooks, so it is wise to buy the books early in the term before they are no longer available.
7. Parents of students offering French: Your wards should bring their headsets and a memory card for the French Oral test.Kindly see the attached list of students offering French in SS1C and SS2 who are to bring the above items when returning on November 10.
